Dotted Taped Mani

Hey all!
I hope you all had a great week. Mine has been pretty awesome. I got a job and I got an iPhone :) Yay! I like that this place doesn't care what is on my nails. That means more fun for everyone!

So for this mani I started with this hot pink black light polish from Claire's. I honestly have no idea what the name is. So then I taped diagonally and painted black with Wet and Wild Black Cream. After all of that dried, I took my smallest dotting tool that wasn't a point and then did the black dots on the pink area and the pink dots on the black area.

I messed up in a few places but overall I really liked this design.

I hope you all enjoy this and I will add another post soon. Enjoy your weekend!

p.s. Go and see the hunger games. It is AMAZING (almost as good as the book)

St. Patty's Day

Hey all! Sorry I haven't posted in a while but now you get to see what I did for St. Patrick's day. I didn't want to do a mani that was overkill on the green.

First I started off with China Glaze Four Leaf Clover on all of my fingers but my ring finger. For that I used Pure Ice Superstar. Once that dried I put some SV on and let it dry. Then I used the Four Leaf Clover to stamp on a clover on my ring finger. Then did some polka dots around it using my dotting tool.

That just shows how nice the green was. Not an overkill but it was festive.

And there is the close up of the accent nail. I got many complements on it. After all of this I thought it would have been nice to add some sparkles. Too little too late I guess.

Anyways, I hope you all had a fun holiday and enjoy this mani. I'll try to post another one soon. Enjoy :)

Polka dot french

Hey all! Happy Monday :)

I saw this manicure on one of the sites that I follow and I dont remember what one so if you happen to see it let me know. Anyways I started out with China Glaze For Audry. Then I used my scotch tape to make a diagonal line and painted it with Wet N Wild Black Cream. After I put on a coat of SV, I used Pure Ice Superstar with my dotting tool and then put a stripe of white using the Kiss Nail stripper. Then I topped it off with my Essie top coat.

I like it and everything but I wish the stripe across was more straight. It's a cute idea but I need to have a steadier hand.

I hope you all enjoy this.

I seriously CANT wait until I can do my St. Patrick's day mani that I am planning. Nothing fancy but I am excited about it.

Hope you all have a good week!!

Kiss Nail Dress

Hey all! This is my second post for tonight. I'd write more but I have to get to work on some homework.

So I have been wanting to try the Sally Hanson nail strips but I can't get myself to do it because I can do most of the designs myself so I found a Kiss Nail Dress design called Peplum. They have a how to on the back.

I really like the idea of these because they have jewels sticking out and I can't do that kind of design myself. They weren't very pricy but I have to say I'm a little disappointed with them. They look nice from a far but up close they have these ridges that showed up, so I never even got to see how long they really lasted.
See how fun? But the finish to it isn't appealing to me.
Fun colors :)
I doubt these are exactly like the Sally Hanson ones because these seemed like these were more like stickers than nail polish. I probably wouldn't buy these again but maybe it was just me. Give them a try and let me know if you have the same problem that I had with them.

Early Shamrock Water Marble

Hey everyone! Two posts tonight so buckle up! Ha! Kidding. Anyways I really thought that St. Patricks day is was this coming weekend so I did this mani to prepare. Then I found out it wasn't so I took it off.

What I used was Sally Hanson White Out, OPI Jade Is The New Black, and Sally Hanson Black Cream. I did droplets in the water and swirled the polish around. My left hand was much nicer than my right which bugged me but oh well.

I like my middle finger the best. Oh and when I was done, I added China Glaze Fairy Dust to add a bit of sparkles.
And my left hand (which I never show you)
See how my right is much worse than my left? I wish it turned out equally nice.

Anyways I hope you like it. It is a fun concept but it is horribly time consuming and EVEN when you tape around your nails, the polish still gets everywhere. It took me a good hour to clean it all up.

Jagged Sunday

Hey all! This weekend has blown by so fast. Sorry I haven't updated in a while. It was a busy time for me but I had a good time because my friend came to visit for the weekend. I miss her.

Anyways... So we were watching Law and Order: SVU and painting our nails and I tried to do some fancy things with purple and it didn't turn out like I wanted SO I started all over again. This time I just painted with my new Avon color: Blue Escape. I left that on for a while and then I wanted to do something else with it so I cut some scotch tape and did zigzag tips with Wet & Wild Black Cream.

I figured out that when you are using tape for your mani, it works to use the scotch tape that is clear. Every time I tried to use the kind that was smoky or not completely see through, it rips when I attempt to pull it up. Then it's stuck to my nail and I can't get it off and it doesn't work.

I really like this blue color. I have something similar but it doesn't come out on the nails like that. It looks like that in the bottle but comes out much darker on the nail.

So after all the tape I put a coat of Essie's Good To GO. It make's it really shiny. I like it :)

When my friend Kate came up, she brought with her many polishes from Sally's Beauty Supply since I dont have that up here. I love her :).

I hope you all have a week :)
