Hot pink pool party!!!

Hey all! I hope you had a great weekend. I sure did. I found out that I'm going to be an aunt! I am so so excited. And my sister is due on my birthday which makes it even more great.

So for my manicure, I used a konad plate. I started with my base coat and then put on China Glaze Pool Party which is a hot pink and I love it. After that dried I put a coat of SV on and let that dry. Then I took my konad plate, number m64, and used Sinful Colors Black on black. I did the swirly design and shockingly I didn't use any blue for this manicure. I tried to take good pictures. I'm not sure these do the pink any justice. Actually the first pictures turned out orange.
It is the strangest thing so I went in my closet with white walls, and then turned the flash off and tried it again. I think this time it was successful.

Better picture for sure but it still doesn't do the pink justice.
I like this design. I really am happy with my konad purchase. It's a good way to spice up a plain color and it is very simple to use. A little time consuming in the beginning but once you know what you're doing it is definitely worthwhile.

Anyways, I hope you all have a good week and I'm sure I'll be posting again soon :)

Hump Day Stripes

Hey all! Hope your week is FLYING by. Mine is going at a steady rate but it will be Friday soon enough :)

So I decided to stick with my blue theme. Or just keep painting my nails blue until I feel that I need a different color. I posted a pic last post of a nail pic I found on my camera and I liked the idea of vertical stripes. So what I did was paint on my base coat, then put on 3 coats of ORLY Blue Collar. It didn't need 3 but I usually stick with that just in case. Then once that dried pretty much, I started painting stripes on the nails, one down the middle and then two on each side. I have a pretty steady hand so I free handed them all using the Kiss striping brush.

I really like the color combo with the bright blue and the black. I was actually debating adding the white dots like the other picture but I felt it would seem like I was trying to make a snow storm on my nails. I have enough of that weather outside than need a daily reminder on my nails. No thanks!

Overall I really like the look. I will probably keep it on for at least 2 days :)

Ombre Nails

Hey all! Well before I said that I was going to keep those colorful nails on longer but I couldn't do it. I had to square my nails because the roundness was driving me nuts! I have good news also. I finally got my camera charged and working and thank goodness. I am tired of blurry nail pictures. I bet you are all too.

So anyways. Here's what I did and used. I started with my base coat. Then I added a layer of Sally Hansen's Insta Dry Blue-Away. Then I put on a coat of SV. After that I taped a diagonal and painted a layer of Ulta Blue Streak. Then I did another coat of SV. After that dried I put another piece of tape a bit further and painted a layer of Revlon Royal (Which btw is one of my FAVORITE blues). Added another coat of SV and then placed my last piece of tape. Then I painted on the last layer of OPI Road House Blues. I added my last coat of SV and then cleaned up the sides. I really liked the turnout but I really wish my nails were longer for the effect. Also when you are looking at the nails, they dont seem like 4 colors since the Royal and Road House Blues kind of blend.
See how the last two colors blend? And the Blue-Away is so light it almost looks white in the photo.

See how fun this is. I saw something similar before that I liked only they taped straight across.

Anyone have other ideas for ombre nails?

I know this has nothing to do with ombre nails but I found this picture of a manicure on my camera and I wanted to share it with you.
Fun hey? Reminds me of cherry blossoms.

Have a good week everyone!!

Colorful Nails

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend.

I saw these nails online. I'm not really sure where I found them. If you know where, let me know. So anyways, I still don't like the shape of my nails but they are growing pretty fast so it wont be too long till I can square them out again. So I started with my base coat. Then I did a line of Avon Sunshine, then a line of OPI, Ya'll come back ya hear, ORLY Passion fruit, and ORLY Blue collar. After those dried, I put on a layer of Avon Black Mosaic.
I really prefer this Mosaic to the OPI Shatter. I have noticed the Shatter has a goopyness over time and it ruins the brush.

I really like this design, It's bright and fun and it really reminds me of Lisa Frank
I was in class when I took these so the lighting is kind of weird. But I hope you can still see how fun this is.
This is in the car so see how the colors come out in natural light? B-E-A-utiful :)

I hope you all enjoy this. I do. I might actually keep this for a while until my nails grow out some more.

Peachy Keen

Hey all! I hope your week has been going great. I think I have caught a cold so I am all stuffed up but I did make time for a mani to share with you all.

I was at the local Shopko and I saw these two pretty shades and since I couldn't pick between, I picked them both up. Sally Hansen Smooth & Perfect Sorbet and Air.
I love how soft and girly the shades are! They are much prettier in person but they look pretty decent here. Anyways, I wanted to do the peachy shade first because it doesn't seem like me but I really liked it. I heard a few things about the application of these shades, like they give your nails more oxygen or something like that. I don't really know. As far as smooth, I was a little disappointed. After applying the coats of color, I noticed some air bubbles. It was rather annoying but after adding a coat of SV they seemed to disappear.
(Sorry it's a little messy). My other complaints about this is that the shade is super sheer so this is like 4 coats. Also, the brush was rather wide which was alright but I prefer the brushes a bit smaller.
Overall, I really like the color. It's very pretty and I honestly don't have a shade that looks anything like this, which is another reason why I picked it. I spiced it up with a dark grey shade with a flowery konad stamp but I can't seem to capture it well enough in a picture to show it to you. Sorry.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Happy Valentines Mani!!!

Hey followers. So I was going to take a longer break from nails but I just couldn't help myself in doing one for Valentines day. I apologize in advance for my shortish and misshapen nails. I'm working on it.

So I was trying to think of something that would be fun for my nails and I was going to Konad a heart but it wasn't cooperating with me today so instead I free handed. It is sloppy, yes, but I was doing it last minute and I think it turned out pretty well. Could be a little less chaotic but overall I like it.

What I did was paint my nails white. Then I drew a heart the best that I could in alternating pink and silver, using the Kiss nail art brushes, and then I outlined the hearts in black so they looked more defined. That seemed a little boring to me so to spice it up, I then added silver, pink, and black polka dots. It made it much more fun :)
(Sorry the pics are blurry--from my phone. I found my camera charger though so will be uploading much better pictures in the future)
Thumb

 All the other fingers
So yeah these are my heart nails. I wont even bother showing you my right hand... it is not pretty since I'm a righty. Oh well. Maybe by next V-day I will master the art of the heart (that rhymed).

I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentines Day!!!

:( So sad

So tonight I was eating dinner with the BF and I was helping him wash dishes. I was drying his glass and my hand slipped causing my thumb nail to crack off against the glass. It was very painful and it broke far down so since I dont like uneven nails, I had to cut them all down and let me tell you, they are SHORT. I can't believe how short they are. It feels really weird and it makes me sad but they will grow back soon. My nails grow pretty fast which is good but I have to say until then I probably wont make another nail post. I dont like them this short with polish. I think they look a little off so until they grow a bit, I will be back. Sorry :(. I am boycotting helping with dishes now haha. Wish me luck and hope my nails grow back twice as fast for you all.

New Essie Polish

So I was at Wal*Mart the other day and I saw a new Essie display and this color popped out at me. I didn't pick it up right away but then in another area I saw it again and I had to have it. I was going to paint my nails just the color because it was so beautiful but then I decided to make it fun and scotch tape the nail diagonally and then add a holographic polish. It is snazzy and I love it.
This is Essie's Go overboard with Icing Glamorous
It's blurry but the color is about how it looks. It reminds me of Nicole OPI's Chloe had a lam lam... I think that is what that was called...
Look how fun!!
And the Icing polish is so colorful and sparkly.
Can you see the pretties?

If you can get your hands on either of these polishes I would ASAP because they are super nice and a good pair together. Hopefully I will put up another post sometime this week. Have a good one everyone!!

Turquoise and Caicos

Sorry this has taken me so long. I had to use another laptop to upload these pictures. I dont have this on my nails anymore since this was earlier this week. BUT luckily for all of you, you will probably be getting another nail post from me later tonight. I took those pictures off of the camera too.

I am in love with this color by Essie. Turquoise and Caicos is very springy and fun. I get complements from this color all of the time and I love how it looks with the color black.
See how pretty the color is? It is much better looking in real life but this is still stunning in pictures.
Sorry for the white spot on my middle finger. Not sure what that was from.
This is a little more green than it is in person.

I really do love this color. It's fun and it makes me think of Spring. I topped it off with a coat of SV.

PS- This weather is weird. One day it's hot and the other it's cold. I'm from MI and I know cold. This isn't right. It keeps icing at night. Hence why I fell smack on my butt last night. It hurt. Landed right on my elbow and tailbone and then my head flung back and hit too. A little hurt from that but it's not as bad as it could be right?
